Located between Tokyo and Nagoya on the fertile Pacific coast of Japan, Shizuoka (静冈) is the nineteenth stage of the historic route of the Tokaido (东海 道) connecting Edo (江 戸, now Tokyo - 东京) in Kyoto (京都).
